How Can I Clean My Computer
By Jery
Bad Computer!!
My computer was starting to sloooow down. If you spend much time online you know what I mean. What to do? Which way to turn? I really didn't know what to do, and was thinking about calling my $80.00 per hr. computer guy to alleviate all my computer worries! You know give in and spend the big bucks.
As luck would have it I came across an email from one of my favorite marketers Eric Holmlund. (I use to get newsletters from more than 50 Internet Marketers.)
Eric's a good guy and I respect his opinion. So I went to Geeks To Go and Wow I love that site, real help when you are feeling very vulnerable!
They recommend here several free software tools to get you started cleaning up your computer, which by themselves can prove to be very helpful.
Here are the ones I've downloaded (I deleted all the other tools I had on my computer as they seemed to be ineffective.)
1. ATF cleaner download
2. Anti-malware download
3. Anti-virus download
I use Windows Vista and different software is available for different systems, just visit their site.
With all the scams and misinformation out there this site is a real breath of fresh air. Volunteers that are ready and willing to help you out in your time of need. And did I mention ALL FOR FREE (I just love the free stuff.)
I receive absolutely no compensation for promoting Geeks To Go this is just FYI!
So if your computer is slooowing down, freezing up, or just acting weird give the Geeks A Go (pun intended.)lol
Update: Do you have programs on your computer (or just "parts" of programs?) that you would like to get rid of completely? I know I did. I would try to delete them, but it seemed like there would always be remnants of the software I just couldn't get rid of. If you've been there and done that, well I've found another piece of software that has helped me get rid of several unwanted programs on my computer, and I love it so thought I would share. It is called Revo Uninstaller and is free (I just love free stuff!!) and works...simple as that!

I'm glad I could help.:o)
Hi,
Thanks for the download links. I'll try them out.
I use some popular free antivirus and spyware removers but after sometime my computer still slowdown.
As a last recourse I use the System Restore option to restore my system to a prior trusted date and it looks okay. I also made it a habit to restore my computer to a trusted date before I install new software and set a new Restore Point after installation.
There are only some minor inconveniences if I use System Restore like my desktop being restored to a prior status. I think the organization or folders in the Favorites menu is also changed but the addresses can still be read. I don't know what it does to cookies.
To be safe I copy/paste some Web addresses to Excel. I don't know if there are other inconveniences besides the above but so far I noticed none so I did'nt mind.
But it's good to have extra tools to handle the problem.
Thanks again.
Geeks to go have you do a system restore in their "before you post" steps. I suppose it depends on who helps you out , but the guy I got was very knowlegable.
I think my computer is fine now. If I could just get Firefox and Thinderbird to quit acting up.
Thanks for your input t08c15
I also sometimes have trouble with Firefox.
I usually prefer Internet Explorer because of the option to unlock
toolbars and move it somewhere else.
If you unlock the toolbars you can move the address bar to that big empty space at the very top at the right side of the main menu.
It gives additional space for the desktop.
Sometimes I also temporarily remove the navigation menu with the back and forward buttons to give even more space.
I don't know if there are options at Firefox like that, is there?
I don't really know t08c15, All I ever do is add or take away different bars at the top, and just use it. I'm really not that techie I pretty much just learn enough to get by...well most of the time that is. lol I'll go see if mybe there's a hub about using the firefox browser, if so I'll get back to you :o)
Well I'm back (you hardly knew I was gone did you?) anyway looks like there very well may be some hubs to shed so light on what you can and can't do with firefox, just type in firefox and check it out.
You must be secretly Superman. I can see only one space there.
Thanks.
I'll try it out.
Thanks Jery, I wish I`d have found this 5 weeks ago.Believe me, I will use it.I enjoyed hearing of your station wagon adventures. That`s the only car that I know of that had a back door that would lay down or swing open.Just wondering, how old are you? I`m 52and I know what you mean by doing 2 out of 3 on your profile.hehe,I ain`t made a dime either.
